Those remote control cars that used to be so popular, which are they?

remember there was this kind of hype for those cars that you could build and take parts away and stuff and you could also race them. they would use real fuel and stuff like that. Does anyone remember them? they were quite a big hype, i loved the hummer, unfortunately they broke into my house and it was smashed….
if anyone can remember the name of those i'd greatly appreciate it because i really want to get one for the old memories sake.
