Is it possable to hard wire a remote control cars transmitter to its reciever?

Hi, i was just wondering if it was possible using say an old 27Mhz transmitter receiver set and 20m of cable… if so how you would go about wiring it?
Thanks i want to put an infared camera on a rockcrawler and send it down possable dig sites in caves…
