You have to cover the laptop screen partially with a black cloth or cardboard. I also used to drive my car at total darkness in the back of my house using a camera wireless system with 10 IR leds.

I see what you mean about durable cameras. Being a remote wireless camera means you get a lot of snow effects with my vids. I've done an rc bike one which I'm editing at this very moment!
