Can building remote control cars be a money making hobby?
It depends. Dont let other peoples answers stop you from trying. You could setup a shop and sell your hand made remote control cars. If you custom make them people will pay a little more for them. Although i cant promise you it would work out, it can still be a hobby even if your not earning money from it.

Almost certainly not. It is so cheap to buy readfymade ones from the far east at all levels from children's toys to out and out racing cars, that you will not recoup your costs.Buying components in bulk will probably cost more than an assembled car, even if you had the market all established, which you dont.
