Is the speed of rc cars "to scale" or the real thing? Is it true that some cars can go 70mph?

Is the mph of the rc cars are to it's size, or really how fast it goes. So, do some go really 70mph, if not, how fast is 70mph "to scale"? TY!

A speed of 70 mph is not unobtainable with a good RC car, for instance the traxxas 4tec.
The speed record at the moment is 161 mph i believe.

Well, say an RC car is 1/6 Scale if that car can go 70MPH then if it were fulll scale (and speed was to scale) that car would be going 420 Mph. RC cars (some) can easly reach 70Mph there are some (very expensive) RC cars that go over 250!
