Nitro RC car or Electric RC car?

ok, so i am looking at buying a new fast RC car. i would like to get a Nitro one but it seems like they have alot of engine problems. Electric ones don't sound very Cool but are reliable. And how long does a gallon of Nitro gas last? What one should i get?
do i need a drifting gyro?

This is almost a loaded question. What do you want to do with it? Where do you want to race it? How much experience with RC do you have? Do you want to work on it a lot, or run it a lot?
Electric cars are great for beginners, because the maintenance and just keeping them running is way easier, You can buy and out of the box RTR truck now for less than 300 dollars that can go 70+ mph in a straight line from traxxas, if you're worried about speed. Nitros have better punch for jumping or things like that, but if you have little experience, they can be a bear to work with, constantly adjusting the carburetor, rejetting it, things like that.
If you have experience with RC cars, and want to give Nitro a try, I am not trying to tell you not to, I'm just saying that they are a lot of work for someone who is not experienced, and I have seen many people buy one, run it for a few weeks, and put it on a shelf because the maintenance is so high. Then they grab their electric car and go have some real fun.
