(details below) why are my rc electric cars controls really weird?

ok so i got given this hobby electric car that is made in japan (tayer brand or something like) and i turned it on and when i accelerated it turned and when i turned it turned but it is always turning to the right and stearing trim does only a little bit. i found a switch that it wasn't connected to so i connected it back together and now when i turn right or reverse it goes it goes forward and it turns (both controls the same thing happens) but nothing else even does anything

well to your car turning and going at the same time, it seems that you have your wires crossed. unplug all the wires and follow them to what servo they go to. then put them in the right spots.

( test it out by plugging it in to a spot and pulling the trigger or turning the wheel to see what happens. if the wheels turn when you pull the trigger then its prolly not in the right spot)

As for the turning being off, you might have to reset the wheels to 0 degrees, turn the car on and when the wheels snap into place, pull the connector arm off the servo and reposition it so it makes the wheels point forward.

Trims only for slight adjustments, like fine tuning it.
